Pending review is a visible status. Here is what it means.
As the standard rolls out, some professionals may appear while their review is in progress. When you see Pending review, it means the professional has submitted their application, agreed to Olyveco’s standards, and the independent review process is actively underway.
What you can do with a Pending profile
- Review their information and specialties
- Use any booking links they have provided
- Request an introduction through Olyveco
- Choose to wait until the full review is complete if you prefer
What Pending does not mean
- It does not mean the professional has passed verification
- Checks are still in progress
- Some homeowners prefer to wait — that is a completely reasonable choice
- Olyveco makes it easy to see the difference at a glance
What we independently check.
The standard criteria vary by profession, region, and tier. Depending on the professional’s category and the tier they are applying for, the review will include one or more of the following:
- Identity confirmation and professional legitimacy checks
- Licensing, certification, or professional association status with the relevant regulatory body
- Business information validation and service area clarity
- Multi-platform review analysis for consistency and authenticity
- BBB standing and publicly available conduct or complaint records
- Standards agreement and Olyveco code of conduct
- For Olyveco Trusted Principal: annual re-review of all of the above
Skilled tradespeople are held to the same standard as licensed real estate professionals. Licensing requirements, certification status, and review records are assessed based on the trade category and the region in which they operate.

- No unsolicited outreach to homeowners — ever. Professionals cannot initiate contact
- Clear, honest communication. No pressure tactics, manufactured urgency, or misleading claims
- Transparent expectations about fees, timelines, and professional responsibilities
- Respectful conduct inside the Olyveco community at all times
- Compliance with Olyveco guidelines for introductions, messaging, and dispute handling

Reporting is straightforward. Accountability is real.
If a homeowner experiences pressure, misrepresentation, conduct that breaks Olyveco’s standards, or anything that does not feel right, there is a clear and accessible path to report it.
What happens when a report is submitted:
- The report is reviewed against Olyveco’s conduct policy
- The professional is notified that a report has been received
- Patterns are tracked across all reports over time
- Actions may include formal warnings, temporary restrictions, badge removal, tier demotion, or permanent removal from the platform
No report is dismissed without review. Professionals who receive repeated reports or a single serious violation are subject to immediate review regardless of their tier or tenure on the platform.
